Buying your first home opens up a whole host of questions you might not have ever considered or thought you’d need answers to. That’s why we provide counseling, helping to ensure that all your concerns are addressed on this journey. Our housing counseling services include credit counseling; estimating how much clients can afford to pay monthly for a mortgage; assistance in finding a lender; determining if a client qualifies for downpayment assistance (including pinpointing the most appropriate type); and helping clients find an affordable home to purchase.
No two families are alike, and that’s why we develop specialized home-buying plans for clients on an individual basis. One-on-one counseling involves in-depth session work with clients, ultimately resulting in income certification and/or a plan of action to bring the client to a point where home purchasing is a viable option. This is an ongoing process, but one our counseling team is committed to resolving for everyone.
Our housing counselors have worked with some clients for several years to help resolve issues that have prevented them from purchasing a home of their own – credit repair and budget management, for example. Our counselors are trained in energy conservation and place a strong emphasis on energy efficiency while working with clients, as energy-efficient homes save clients a lot of money in the long run as well as in the short term.
Clear communication is key to getting through the process, and you can rest assured that we’ll work hard to help you every step of the way. Two of our counselors are bilingual and documents are provided to clients in both English and Spanish. No matter your questions, we’ve got the answers.
We are now offering our Homebuyer Training classes via Zoom.
